Paragliding in Rajasthan

Paragliding in rajasthan During your trip to Rajasthan -keep the magnificent forts and palaces in mind but don't forget to include adventure activities in your itinerary as the state offers immense scope for the adventure seekers.

Paragliding trips of Rajasthan
The sport of paragliding started some 7 years ago in India and is also famous as parapenting. It is truly a recreational and competitive flying sport. This activity is gaining popularity day by day as India offers great possibilities for paragliding with the Himalayas in the North and the Sahayadri ranges in the west coast.

The royal and majestic state of Rajasthan puts forth several opportunities of paragliding as the state owns many runways and strips. The sport of paragliding can also be organised in the cities of Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner and Kota. Pushkar is another destination where paragliding is possible. However for all these the permission from the Civil Aviation authorities of Rajasthan is a must. While you fly high in the air you can relish the bird eye view of the forts, palaces, temples and many other historical monuments.

Essentials for Paragliding
A glider must be physically fit and he should not try to make too many stunts in the air. The glider should know the basic technique of paragliding which include -launching, turning and landing. The essentials equipments comprises a glider, which must be able to provide resistance to thermal currents and retard the rate of descent, a harness that attaches the paraglider firmly and safely to the glider. The para-glider should be designed in such a way that it can be removed quickly to avoid injury, by dragging the glider over the ground after landing. Other requirements are a helmet, a reverse parachute and a variometer to gauge the ascent and descent of the glider. For those who cannot afford the costly equipments or do not have time to learn gliding, there is a good alternative for them. They can sit along with an experienced glider in a Tandem Glider, a two-seater glider, and enjoy the thrill of paragliding.

Best Time for Paragliding
The best season for paragliding is from April to mid-June and September to November.
