Trekking in Sikkim

The land offers number of fascinating trekking routes to the trekking enthusiasts. The various treks pass through the beautiful Gompas, simple and colourful hamlets, fascinating alpine forests embraced by a rich variety of flora and fauna.

Sikkim Trekking Routes
Rabangla to Mainom Top Trek
Time – 1 day
Level - moderate
Ideal Season – October to mid December, mid March to end - May
Location – South Sikkim

The trek from Rabangla to Mainom takes around four hours.
Damthang to Tendong Trek
Time – 1 day
Level – easy to moderate
Ideal Season – October to mid December, mid March to end May
Location – South Sikkim

Damthang is situated at about 14 kms from Namchi on Gangtok-Namchi road. Trail to Tendong hill takes about two hours on a footpath via the thick forests.

Dzongri and Goecha La Trek
Time – 8-10 days
Level - moderate
Ideal season – October to mid December, April to mid May
Location – Western Sikkim

This trek is undoubtedly the most famous trek in Sikkim. It is its superb mountain views and birds and views of the pristine forests that makes it so very popular. The trek gets very crowded during October and sometimes during May.

Best Season To Trek
The best time to trek in these parts of the Eastern Himalayas is between mid- February to May and again from October to December.
