Bekal Beach

Kappad Beach
The Kappad beach in Kerala is at about 16 km from Kozhikode town in North
Kerala and is a gleaming stud of the Indian crown. This is the same beach
where Vasco da Gama is said to have landed in 1498 with 170 sailors. The
beach is locally famous as Kappakadavu. The entire beach of Kappad is
studded with rocks and friendly waves. An interesting feature of the beach
is the rock that protrudes in the sea. There is also a temple on the rock
which is said to be about 800 years old. The nearby Korapuzha River empties
into the sea alongside Kappad Beach. This idyllic beach of Kappad is a
perfect entry point to God's own country. The splashing waves and the
serenity of the beach make it an ideal beach holiday destination.
Marari Beach
Marari is one of the local fishing villages of Kerala. Life in this village
goes on very smoothly. Marari offers endless stretch of sandy beaches. The

of Papanasam as it is believed that bathing here can wash away all of one's
sins. There are many attractions around the this beach like the mineral
springs that are considered to have medicinal properties. The beach is
however quite famous for its landscape. The Sree Janardhana Swamy Temple
nearby is believed to be between 800 - 2000 years old. Watching sunset at
the Varkala Beach is an experience unto itself.
Cherai Beach
Cherai beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Kerala. It is located
at about 26 km from Ernaculam city,
Kochi.
A unique combination of sea and backwaters can be found here adorned by
coconut palms and paddy fields. This golden beach is 15 km long and is very
popular for its cleanliness. The beach also proves to be ideal for several
beach activities.
