If you are looking for peace and tranquillity, Kasauli sure sort serves
your purpose. Its colonial ambience, beautiful gardens and orchards, quaint
shops and gabled houses- all these make Kasauli one of the fascinating and
most wannabe tourist spot of India. It is a small town that was developed by
the British during the 'hey day 'of the empire. The breathtaking beauty and
panoramic views of Kasauli is what is its USP. Legend has it that Kasauli
came in to being when Lord Hanuman was on his way to bring the Sanjeevani
herb and jumped on the Sanjeevani hill.
Places Of
Interest
Monkey Point The Monkey Point is said to be the
highest point in Kasauli. A small temple is also located on the top of the
hill that is dedicated to Lord Hanumaan. This temple lies within the
confines of an air force radar station and base and is subject to security
restrictions (no cameras or bags allowed).
Shri Baba Balak Nath Temple - .Located on the Graner Hill
top is a famous temple of Sidh Baba Balak Nathji. People praying for the
blessing of their children visit this shrine. Many baptism ceremony is also
performed here in the temple complex.
Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir This temple, dedicated to
Sai Baba was built in 1989 by Sai Sudha Trust. The idol of Sai Baba was
built a Jaipur and the burning flame in this temple signifies the divine
power of Saibabaji of Shiridi.
Baptist Church and Christ Church Kasauli houses
some of the most magnificently made buildings reminiscent of the erstwhile
English architecture. These two churches are the best examples that stand
out because of their imposing appearances.
Sabathu This is one of the main attractions of
Kasauli. The Gurkha fort here was constructed in the 19th century. The town
was home to the British soldiers during the erstwhile era.
Sanawar Located at 6 km from the town of Kasauli is
Sanawar. The place is the home to the world famous Lawrence School. Started
with just a few students in hand, today this institution is one of the best
in the country.

Restaurants
Kasauli has no restaurants apart from those in the hotels. You can however
stop at the Giani's Dhaba for feasting your tongue with Tandoori Chicken,
Egg toast, Chicken Curry, Ma-ki-Dal and Lassi.

Air: The nearest airport from Kasauli is Chandigarh.
Rail: Nearest railhead is Kalka in Haryana, which is 40-km from
Kasauli and 44-km from Solan. Solan is also connected with narrow gauge
railway line from Kalka.
Road: Solan and Kasauli are well connected by road buses, coaches
and taxis are also easily available from Chandigarh and
Delhi.
