Day 1 Arrival in Delhi After
your arrival at Delhi International Airport, you will be received
cordially by our reception team and thereafter you'll be escorted to the
hotel.Day 2 Delhi After the morning breakfast, you'll do better to soak up a lot of information that is going to come your way. This information is going to be in various forms, the visual treats included. We'll today embark upon sightseeing tour of both parts of Delhi in which we'd savour all the attractions that Delhi has to offer such as Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, House of Parliament, Jama Masjid, the Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, Jantar Mantar, Laxmi Narain Temple, India Gate and the Qutub Minar. As you bow before the memorial of the father of the nation , you feel the intensity of the struggle that had taken place with the mightiest empire of that time. Lakshmi Narain Temple, Jama Masjid are sacred monuments which inculcate in us the spirit of accepting a divine power guiding us. Your overnight stay has been scheduled at the Delhi Hotel itself ... so ... once again a very good night. Day 3 Delhi - Varanasi In the morning we'll escort you to the domestic airport where you'll board the flight to Varanasi. Our representative will be there for your smooth arrival and checking into the hotel. Varanasi, the city which is known by many names such as Banaras and Kashi, is situated on the bank of holy river Ganga and is one of the oldest cities of the world. The spiritual importance of this place for the Hindus is unparallelled and they believe that by taking a dip in the holy waters of Ganga, their sins are washed away. The view of the ghats provides us a bridge to get enchanted by Varanasi. As you float down the river some banks will be found crowded with worshippers, at others you'd be lucky to sight even a solitary worshipper. In the heart of this city is the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the holiest shrine of Lord Shiva. We'll also visit the Banaras Hindu University after which Sarnath, which is 11 km from Varanasi, is our next destination. This is the place where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon to his disciples under the Bodhi Tree thus triggering a robust inclination among the people to strive for peace. We visit the site and the temple attached to it. We'll stay at Varanasi Hotel for the night. Day 4 Varanasi - Agra Guess what? You wake up early in the morning to enjoy boat ride in the Holy River "Ganges" along the banks of the river. Along with the spectacular sunrise you can witness morning rituals of local people and visit various temple on the bank of river Ganges. Now that we have returned from the boat ride we get back to the hotel to enjoy our breakfast. You are at leaisure for the rest of the day and you can plan your own actvities. In the evening you'll come to the railway station along with us to board the train for Agra. Your overnight stay will be on board. Day 5 Agra In the morning, the train will arrive at Tundla station where you'll meet our representative and from there we'll go to Agra and check into a hotel. You'll be guided and extended all possible help along the way. As you visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan, you realize that a visit to Taj Mahal is once in a lifetime experience. Located on the banks of Yamuna, Agra is an important part of northern India landscape and today Agra is a world heritage city. It is difficult to find any memorial as grand as Taj. A visit to the Agra Fort is scheduled next which also encompasses the Pearl Mosque, the Halls of Public and Private Audience. The fort is built on the bank of Yamuna and has quite an imposing structure. It is fortified by a 70 feet high wall. After visiting these tourism destinations we return to Agra as our overnight stay has been scheduled at Agra itself. Day 6 Agra - Jaipur After
breakfast we head towards Jaipur visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute.
Fatehpur Sikri is 40 kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569
and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. The notable part
of all the buildings of Fatehpur Sikri is their uniform style of
architecture which strikes you the very first time you see these. See
these graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid , Tomb of Salim
Chisti , Panch Mahal and other Palaces. We check into the hotel after we
reach Jaipur which is approximately 210 km away from Fatehpur Sikri and
we'll stay for the night here.Day 7 Jaipur After the breakfast, the morning is reserved for a visit to Amber Fort . Amber Fort was the ancient capital of the state. We also go to see the Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors. Afternoon tour of Jaipur. Jaipur - the capital of Rajasthan was given a colour coat of pink a century ago in honour of a visiting Prince and ever since, it has retained this colour. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, the notable astronomer, this city is 260 years old. Visit Maharaja's City Palace, the Observatory and Ram Niwas Gardens. Drive past Hawa Mahal and through the pink rose residential and business areas. Overnight stay has been scheduled at Jaipur. Day 8 Jaipur - Bikaner We leave Jaipur early for Bikaner after having our breakfast. On arrival you check in at the hotel. The journey is 321 km long and takes about 6 hrs. Rao Bika, the second son of the founder of Jaipur, founded this desert town in the northern part of the state in 1488. The significance of the city arose from the fact that it figured on the trade route which connected North India with Central Asia. The notable point is that it still is a trade centre, though for different items. Bikaner is renowned for its red and yellow sandstone forts and palaces. What is most impressive about Bikaner is its wall that surrounds and fortifies it. We go to Dev Kund where the cenotaphs of the erstwhile Bikaner Rulers. Then there are other attractions such as Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum, Junagarh Fort and Museum, Bhanwar Niwas Palace, Lalgarh Palace and if you are visiting this enchanting city in January, nothing like it as then you'd be able to view the vibrant camel festival. Our overnight stay is scheduled in Bikaner. Day 9 Bikaner - Jaisalmer In the morning, we visit Karni Mata Temple for a darshan of the deity thereafter we proceed to Jaisalmer after breakfast - as we drive through this desertscape, we behold with awe the gigantic living fort of Jaisalmer rising out of sand like sun does. The journey is about 333 km long and it takes about 7 hrs to reach our destination. Tired? You won't feel so when you notice the colours of this town that gives it a unique hue. Jaisalmer is a town which is home to several intricately carved havelis. On arrival, we check in at the hotel. Overnight stay has been scheduled in Jaisalmer. Day 10 Jaisalmer It's morning and it's breakfast time now. You are about to find out just what this place has that attracts tourists to this almost isolated desert town. Despite the difficult weather and its proximity to the border of Pakistan which is a trouble prone area, yet tourists keep coming here. Why? Take a look at the imposing Jaisalmer Fort which is made of yellow sandstone which is also called Sonar Qila. The fort has within it criss crossing lanes encompassing beautiful havelis (mansions) in between. There are four gateways to approach the forts namely Akhaiyal, Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol and Hava Pol. The splendid wood and stone mansions with intricate designs on them and buildings display the interest Rajputs had for the fine arts. The other important structures that are not to be missed are Nathmal ji ki Haveli, Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Singh ki Haveli etc. Another attraction of Jaisalmer is Gadi Sagar Lake which was once the source of water supply for Jaisalmer. Overnight stay has been scheduled in Jaisalmer. Day 11 Jaisalmer - Jodhpur After
breakfast, proceed to Jodhpur, the Blue City - that stands at the
periphery of the Thar Desert. On arrival check into the hotel. Jodhpur
is the second largest city of Rajasthan and the climate is exactly what
you expect in a desert. The city is like an oasis in the vast terrain of
desert and it sustains certain species that can survive in a climate
like this. This city was founded by the Rajput chief Rao Jodha and it
was the capital of Marwar state. A wall made of stone surrounds the city
which is about 10 km long. It is said that Jodhpur visit is not complete
unless you visit Mehrangarh Fort here. This fort is located in the heart
of the city. The panoramic view of the city from the top of this fort is
captivating to say the least. This fort is witness to the military
strength of the Rajput warriors and for proof you can very well see the
strategically located canons on the walls. Within the fort, the
attractions are Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Moti Mahal, Daulat Khana and
Sileh Khana. Jaswant Thada, a white marble cenotaph, is also worth a
visit. Another tourist attraction is the Umaid Bhawan Palace which was
constructed to give employment to people during the famines. There is a
museum in the palace that has rarities, antiques of the past. Here you
can see costumes, tea sets, clocks, timepieces and paintings. Although
the palace is still used as a Royal residence, but a bigger portion of
it has been converted into a heritage hotel. After dinner, we'll stay in
a Jodhpur Hotel for the night.Day 12 Jodhpur Udaipur After breakfast, let's drive towards our next destination, Udaipur. We'll be visiting the renowned Ranakpur Temples enroute. Ranakpur Jain Temples are among the most sacred of Jain temples. The most important temple is dedicated to Rashabh ji. The temples are 500 years old and very well preserved. The Jain Temples built in the 15th century are situated in the lovely valley of the Aravali. Its surrounding is quiet and picturesque. Ranakpur has grand structures and beautiful sculpture. We have to travel 98 km more to reach Udaipur. This city is better known as city of lakes. Founded in 1568 by Maharana Udai Singh, this city is full of palaces, temples and havelis in all kinds, from modest to the extravagant. The city is a part of Aravalli Hills and the major attractions of this city are Jagdish Temple, Jag Mandir, City palace and museum which is of special relevance as it is an important attraction of Udaipur. City Palace has many courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens. One can get a magnificent view of the lake and the city from the upper terraces of the palace. The main part of the palace has now been preserved as a museum. You get to see the beautiful mosaics of peacocks at the Mor Chowk, the glass and mirror work in the Manak Mahal and Moti Mahal, and a beautiful collection of miniatures in Krishna Vilas. Your overnight stay has been scheduled at Udaipur itself. Day 13 Udaipur Ajmer
After breakfast, we'll begin to drive towards Ajmer which is 274 km
away. Ajmer is the green retreat encompassed by barren hills. In the
afternoon, visit the Tomb of the Sufi Saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti,
the Dargah Sharif. The city was founded by the Chauhan ruler, Aiaipal,
during the 11th century & is dominated by the Taragarh Fort built by
Prithviraj Chauhan. Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for both Hindus
as well as Muslims. The Mughal emperor Akbar used to visit Dargah Sharif
once every year. Thousands of pilgrims go to visit the tomb every year
during the Urs - the commemoration of death anniversary of the saint.
Other attractions in Ajmer are Shahjehan's Mosque, the man made Ana
Sagar Lake and Adhai Din ka Jhopda. We'll stay in Ajmer for the night.Day 14 Ajmer Delhi After breakfast, we'll move towards the same place where we began from, which means that our tour has come to an end. We're driving towards Delhi where after your farewell dinner, you'll be assisted by our staff to reach the International Airport for your respective onward journeys. |
