Day 1 : Arrive Delhi Arrive
at Delhi's IGI Airport to be met by the company's representatives. Your
travel assistant escorts you to the hotel for check in and a traditional
welcome. In the afternoon, your guide takes you out on a sightseeing
trip of Old and New Delhi visiting such popular attractions as the Red
Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Lotus Temple and
Raj Ghat. Later, the guide accompanies you back to the hotel for dinner
and an overnight stay. Day 2 : Delhi - Chandigarh After breakfast in the morning, the travel assistant takes you to the airport for your flight to Chandigarh. On arrival, your travel guide escorts you to the hotel for check in. Enjoy post lunch visits to the Rose Garden and the Rock Garden. Also visit the Capitol Complex and enjoy a boat ride along the Sukhna Lake. Other attractions to be visited include the Leisure Valley, Government Museum, Art Gallery and International Dolls Museum. Return to the hotel for dinner and a nightlong stay. Day 3 : Chandigarh - Amritsar After you have had your breakfast, we head towards Amritsar (357 km). Pay a visit to the Golden Temple which is also known as the Harmander Sahib. Watch the devotees take a dip in the holy lake at the temple. Later, get to see the Jallianwala Bagh that is a grim reminder of the great massacre of 1919 when the British Army fired randomly on a peaceful assembly of people who had gathered in demand of freedom. Another chief tourist attraction is the Wagah Border. The guide also takes you to Tarn Taran, another important Sikh shrine. Get to the hotel for check in and overnight stay. Day 4 : Amritsar - Dharamsala Today, we head to Dharamsala that was originally inhabited by semi-Nomadic Gaddi tribe. Visit McLeodgunj, the residence of Dalai Lama. Feast your eyes upon the scenic splendours of the place. Get to the Namgayal Monastery and the Bhagsunath Temple. Situated in the wilderness is the Church of St John that reminds us of the British Raj. Also visit the Tibetan Children Village Institute. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay. Day 5 : Dharamsala - Manali After
an early morning breakfast, the travel representatives takes you out on
a drive to Manali. On arrival get to the hotel for check in. Later, your
travel assistant takes you to visit Manali's oldest shrine - Hadimba
Devi Temple. Also visit the Vashisht hot springs and the Naggar Castle.
Take a stroll through the Manali market. Get back to the hotel for check
in and an overnight stay. Day 6 : Manali - Keylong After you have had the breakfast, the travel guide accompanies you on your drive to Keylong (115 km/ 6 hours). Visit the Rohtang Pass (3980 m) en route. Visit the lady of Keylong that's a snow-crested peak - a treat for your eyes. Also visit the Shashur Gompa which is dedicated to Zanskari Lama. Here, you get to see the five-metre-long thangka. The guide escorts you to the hotel for check in, dinner and a nightlong stay. Day 7 : Keylong - Sarchu Today we leave for Sarchu (163 km). Visit Darcha en route. The site in question is a popular trekking option for entering Padum. While in winter, it is the only option to get to the Zanskar Valley. Arrive at Sarchu. Rest of the day is to be spent at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 8 : Sarchu - Leh After breakfast in the morning, we proceed towards Leh (176 km), passing through Lachlangla Pass (5,060 m). Enjoy your drive along the undulating terrains. Further on, you cross another pass - Tanglangla (5,378 m). The Manali-Leh route is the world's second highest motorable road. Get to the hotel for check in and a nightlong stay. Day 9 : Leh The travel assistant guides you on a morning sightseeing of the town of Leh. Visit the Shankat Gompa, Leh Palace and the Namgyal Tsemo. Also visit the Spituk Gompa that was built in the q5th century. Here, you get to see an interesting collection of ancient masks, antique arms, icons and thangkas. A visit to the Mahakal Temple is also in store. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Day10 : Leh After an early breakfast, we embark on a full day excursion to the Thiksey Monastery. At the monastery, you will observe the morning prayer ceremoney. Also visit the Hemis Minastery which is the most important and richest monastery in Ladakh. 15 km south of Leh lies the Shey Gompa which was earlier a royal residence. Here, you will see the largest statue of Maitreya Buddha (Buddha to come). Also get to the Stok Palace which is where the last king of Ladakh died in 1974. At the museum, you can see a fascinating collection of royal jewellery, traditional costumes and exquisite thangkas. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day11 : Leh - Pangong - Leh This
morning, your guide takes to the Pangong Lake via Changla. The amazing
landscape is just a treat for your eyes. The scenic lake lies half in
India and half in China. Enjoy your day. In the afternoon, we get back
to Leh for dinner and a nightlong stay at the hotel. Day12 : Leh - Delhi The tour concludes and after breakfast the company's representative escorts you to the airport for your flight to Delhi from where you continue on your onward journey. |
