Day 1 Arrival Delhi
Arrive at Delhi's IGI Airport to be warmly met by the company's
representatives. Later, the travel manager escorts you to the hotel for
check in and a traditional welcome. Your guide takes you out on a post
lunch visit of Old Delhi and New Delhi. Visit such famous sites as the
Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Raj Ghat,
India Gate etc. Day 2 Delhi - Ajmer (By train) 3hrs 40 minutes After breakfast in the morning, the travel assistant accompanies you to the railway station to catch the Shatabdi Express. Breakfast is served on board. Upon arrival in Ajmer, the guide takes you to the hotel for chek in. Further, the guide takes you on a drive to Pushkar where you get to visit the only Brahma Temple in the world. Later, he drives back and escorts you to the Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (r.a.). The Dargah Sharif at Ajmer is visited by a large number of devotees, regardless of cast and creed, during the Urs Festival. Also visit the Taragarh Fort, Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra and Akbar's Palace. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 3 Ajmer - Udaipur (270 km) This morning after breakfast, we set out on your trip to Udaipur, the 'City of Lakes'. As you cross the desert escape of Thar, you visit the temple complex of Eklingji and Nagada en route. Later, the guide takes you on a post lunch visit to the Sahelion Ki Bari. And next awaiting is a sunset cruise along the wonderful Lake Pichola. Your dinner and nightlong stay are scheduled at the hotel. Day 4 Udaipur Today, your travel guide accompanies you on a full day city tour of Udaipur. First, he takes you to visit the City Palace and the City Palace Museum. Get to see the Peacock Square and the miniature painting school inside the palace. Enjoy post lunch visits to the Jagdish Temple. Dinner and overnight stay are scheduled at the hotel. Day 5 Udaipur - Mount Abu (250 km)
After an early morning breakfast, we start on a drive to Mount Abu, the
only hill station in Rajasthan. En route, you get to visit Ranakpur
which is an important pilgrimage centre of the Jains. Pay a visit to the
temple of Adinath. Later, we continue towards Mount Abu which is another
important pilgrimage centre of the Jains. Here, you see the Dilwara Jain
Temples that date back to the 11th century. A visit to the Nakki Lake is
also included. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. Day 6 Jodhpur After a relaxed breakfast in the morning, the travel assistant takes you out on a drive to Jodhpur. On arrival, he escorts you to the hotel for check in and lunch. Later, he accompanies you to visit the popular spice market of Jodhpur. Enjoy your time at the Mandore Gardens. Also visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace, where the Mahraja of Jodhpur resides today. Your dinner and overnight stay are scheduled at the hotel. Day 7 Jodhpur - Jaisalmer After breakfast, we head towards Jaisalmer. Get to visit the Mehran Garh Fort Museum that served as the stronghold of the Rathore princes. At the museum, you can see an interesting collection of paintings, arms and ammunitions. Reach Pokharan to view the 15th century fortress, the birthplace of Mughal emperor Akbar. After lunch, we resume our journey to Jodhpur. On arrival, the travel manager escorts you to the hotel for check in and an overnight stay. Day 8 Jaisalmer Today, you have a full day to enjoy the sights in the golden city of Jaisalmer. Visit the Sonar Kila that houses Jain temples. There is a museum here that houses an amzing collections of art and artifacts belonging to the royal families of Jaisalmer. The famous Patwon Ki Haveli and the Gadisar Lake are also to be visited. Later, your travel guides takes you to visit the Khuri Village where you can go nostalgic by enjoying the cultural performances put up by the local artists and musicians. Dinner and overnight stay are scheduled in ethnic huts in the village. Day 9 Bikaner
Today, we leave the city of Jaisalmer and head towards Bikaner. Your
travel guide accompanies you on your visit to the Junagadh Fort where
you can have an insight into the history of Bikaner. Also visit the
popular Camel Breeding Farm, the Lakshmi Mandir and the Durga Temple.
Stay overnight at the hotel.Day 10 Bikaner - Jaipur After breakfast in the morning, the company's representative guides you on a drive to the pink city of Jaipur. Enjoy the sights of the dunes and take a halt at Samode to visit the real palace of the Maharaja. Also take a stroll through the village bazaar. Further, continue the journey to Jaipur. Upon arrival, the guide escorts you to the hotel for check in and overnight stay. Day 11 Jaipur Today, the company's representative guides you on a city tour of Jaipur. First thing in the morning you pay a visit to the imposing Amber Fort and enjoy a royal elephant ride there. At the fort, you get to see the Sheesh Mahal or the Palace of Mirrors, the Hall of Public Audiences and Maharaja Man Singh's Palace. Enjoy post lunch visits to the Jantar Mantar Observatory that was built by Sawai Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1727. Later, your guide accompanies you to visit the City Palace and the Hawa Mahal. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 12 Jaipur - Agra Today, we head to the Agra - the 'City of Taj'. Visit the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri en route. Here you get to see the Buland Darwaza and the tomb of saint Salim Chishti (r.a) who blessed Jodhabai, Mughal emperor Akbar's wife with a son. Later, we resume our journey to Agra. On arrival, the travel manager escorts you to the hotel for check in and dinner. Stay overnight at the hotel. Day 13 Agra After an early morning breakfast, your guide takes you to visit the splendid Taj Mahal, the iconic structure of the city. The grand edifice looks grander when it catches the rays of the morning sun. The guide also acquaints you of the amazing history of the Taj Mahal. Notice the architecturally perfect design, elegant domes and the intricate carvings. Later visit the Agra Fort that was erected by the Akbar the Great. Also pay a visit to the tomb of Itimadu-ud-Daulah and Sikandara where the great Mughal emperor Akbar lies buried. Dinner and overnight stay are scheduled at the hotel. Day 14 Agra Today,
the travel guide accompanies you on an excursion to the nearby cities of
Mathura and Brindavan. Mathura is the birthplace of Lord Krishna while
Brindavan is the sacred city where Lord Krishna spent his childhood.
Visit the Krishna Janambhoomi and Government Museum in Mathura. At
Brindavan, you can be witness to the rituals performed at the fames
ISKCON Temple. The guide later escorts you on a drive back to Agra.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. Day 15 Agra - Varanasi Have your breakfast. The travel assistant now escorts you to the airport for you flight to the sacred city of Varanasi or Benaras. Upon arrival, the guide takes you to visit Sarnath, the site where Lord Budhha delivered his first sermon. Also visit the museum that displays artifacts dating back to the 3rd century BC. Later, the travel guide escorts you back to the city and accompanies you to the hotel for check in and an overnight stay. Day 16 Varanasi - Haridwar In the early morning, the travel guide escorts you to the sacred ghats of Varanasi for a dawn boat ride along the holy Ganges. Here, from the secure confines of the boat, you can witness the rites performed by the devotees at the ghats. The devotees can be seen offering prayers or taking a dip in the divine waters of the Ganges. Later, the guide takes you to visit the Banaras Hindu University, one of the oldest and the largest residential institution in India. You also get to see the famed Vishwanath Temple. Return to hotel for breakfast and spend the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, the travel manager transfers you to the railway station for your train to Haridwar. Day 17 Haridwar - Rishikesh Arrive at Haridwar in the morning. Pay a visit to the spiritual town of Haridwar. The travel manager takes you to Har Ki Pauri where the grand Kumbh Fair, held every twelve years, takes place. Also visit the temples lying on the banks of the Ganges. Later, we drive to Rishikesh. Here, you get to see the Lakshman Jhula and the Ram Jhula. Also visit the ashram on the banks of the divine Ganges. Get back to the hotel for check in and overnight stay. Day 18 Rishikesh - Delhi Have
your breakfast. And then, we leave for Delhi. Arrive in the city by
lunch. Get to hotel for check in and an ethnic Indian lunch. Enjoy post
lunch visit to the Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Raj
Ghat and the Red Fort. Also take a stroll through the markets of the
Chandni Chowk. Return to the hotel for a delectable dinner. Stay
overnight at the hotel. Day 19 Delhi - Amritsar Have your breakfast. The travel guide transfers you to the railway station for your train to Amritsar. Upon arrival, your guide escorts you to the hotel for check in. Freshen up and then enjoy a visit to the Golden Temple, a prominent pilgrimage centre of the Sikhs. Later, the guide takes you to visit the Jallianwala Bagh which is known for the massacre of 1919. Spend the rest of the day at your convenience. Have a delicious Indian dinner and stay overnight at the hotel. Day 20 Amritsar - Delhi Enjoy a relaxed breakfast. Later in the day, the travel representative escorts you to the railway station for your train to Delhi. Arrive in the city and check in at the hotel. In the evening, we have arranged a Sound & Light Show at the Purana Quila or the Old Fort. Later, we return to the hotel for an ethnic farewell dinner followed by a timely transfer to the airport for your journey back home. |
