Sariska is dominated by sharp cliffs and narrow valleys of the Aravallis and is some 200 km from Delhi. The forests of Sariska are dry and deciduous. Within the sanctuary there are ruins of medieval temples of Garh - Rajor belonging to the 10th and 11th century. The sanctuary covers an area of 800 sq. km. It is a tiger reserve and you can see ungulates in large numbers and the bird life is very good and varied. The area was declared a sanctuary in 1955 and became a National Park in 1979. The Sariska park is home to numerous carnivores including Leopard, Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, and Tiger . These feed on an abundance of prey species such as Sambar, Chitel, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar and Langur.

The Sariska Palace was designed by a French architect in 1892 and was built under the patronage of Maharaja Jai Singh of Alwar. Surrounded by rich and colourful traditions, visitors to the palace are guaranteed an experience full of intriguing sights, sounds and smells.

Accommodation & Dining
The resort offers a regal yet restful ambience to all those on bird watching tours to scenic and breathtaking Sariska. There are around 80 rooms in the hotel. The rooms & suites are gigantic (with typical high ceilings) & clean, with phones but no TVs; Some are air-conditioned. The lovely flower bedecked grounds are encircled by a large wall to keep the animals out, though they often find their way in.
